Three perspectives on the incomparable new select store UNFOLLOW.
Unfollow the rules.

Unparalleled up-and-coming select store
Three perspectives that unravel UNFOLLOW.

UNFOLLOW, a select store that started in 2017 with the concept of "not following," has taken a new direction for the 21SS season. After rebranding, the noble concept has been further refined and seems to be gaining support mainly from young people, transcending gender boundaries. Its unparalleled pulse reminds us of the early days of the famous stores of the "BAYCREW'S" group, such as "RECHOP" and "WISM," which are also well-known in HOUYHNHNM's. To get a closer look at the true face of "Unfollow," we visited the relocated Tokyo store. We will unravel the store from three perspectives, including an overview of the rebranding, a conversation with the designer of the original FOLL brand and stylist Ramuda Takahashi, and styling using the latest items from the 21SS collection.

The quality of the product can be clearly seen the moment you put it on.

There are five types of shirts in total. Are different fabrics used for each of them?

Hirasawa:Three of the fabrics were made by the president of a fabric wholesaler, who gave us test fabrics and remnants of high-end fabrics used by luxury brands. The blue check and brown stripe are from Thomas Mason.

What are the features and particulars of the details?

Hirasawa:The distinctive features are the collar, which is as small as a woman's, and the pockets fastened with narrow cankles. I was particularly particular about the pockets. Although they have plenty of capacity, they are so elegantly fastened with a kanuki that you may not even notice that they have pockets at first glance.

. Like the denim pants I mentioned earlier, the details that don't make a big statement exude a kind of subtle power.

Takahashi:Really , it doesn't bulge weirdly or ruin the silhouette of the shirt when you put your hand in it.

Hirasawa:The design is achieved by sewing a single stitch on the back of the front front. This shirt was sewn by a factory that has been sewing shirts for 40 years. Look at the front of the shirt. They dropped the needle along the pattern of the fabric, so you can't see the stitches if you move away from the fabric a little bit. Even though I didn't ask for it in the instructions, they tailored it with such pride and attention to detail. The hems were also tailored with 22 stitches, where the needle drops 22 times in 3 cm. ......

Takahashi:I don't know that much about maniacs! (Laughs)

All:(Laughter)

Takahashi:. However, it's hard to explain, but you can certainly tell how cool it is the moment you put it on. Usually when I wear a shirt, I like to close all the buttons, but with this one, I think it would be surprising to open it all the way and wear it with the back pulled out. . It doesn't feel like I'm simply wearing a shirt, does it?

Hirasawa:It looks like a jacket, or something. . You might have people think of it as a "bag to wear," so that you can wear it in the summer in an air-conditioned place and carry things in your pockets otherwise.
