We want it to be a place that will help people fall in love with clothes.

What kind of store is "Palette Art Alive"?

Kawamura: Just as clothing has its own personality, each person has his or her own personality. Like the "palette" in our store name, we hope that clothes and people will mix and create new colors and sensations. That is why we have a wide range of brands from the avant-garde, mode-inspired "YUKI HASHIMOTO" to the American-style "ink" brand that remakes vintage clothing.

Why did you decide to work here?

Kawamura: I started working there in April 2018. When I became a university student, I started working part-time at a select store in Horie and often visited "Palette Art Alive" during my breaks. The staff at that time were very kind to me, and I ended up working here through a chance encounter. Since then, I have come to love clothes even more, and I still spend more than 100,000 yen a month on clothes since I joined the company (laughs).

Kawamura-san, what made you fall in love with fashion in the first place?

Kawamura: I became interested in fashion from a young age when I saw retro clothes that belonged to my mother. Perhaps because of this influence, I still visit vintage clothing stores and often buy used items.

Kawamura-san, who is known as the most fashionable person in Kansai and frequently appears in various media snapshots, what does fashion mean to you?

Kawamura: Putting on clothes makes you feel better, and dressing up gives you a different view of the world. I believe that it is something that leads to one's own personal growth. I hope that "Palette Art Alive" will be a place where people can start liking someone else's clothes, just as it was for me.

The synergy between the watch and jewelry makes for a classy look.

Do you usually wear a watch?

Kawamura: I have always wanted one, but I have thin arms, so I haven't been able to find one that fits me well. However, I am wondering if a watch with a moderate volume would fit me as well. I think I can wear this "Sea Star 1000" without any discomfort.

It's not too big, but not too small either. I think it suits you very well.

Kawamura: Thank you very much. If I am going to wear a watch, I want to match it with jewelry to create a sense of luxury. I feel like wearing a minimalist look with just a ring, rather than layering on a bunch of accessories.

That's why watches and jewelry must have a strong presence.

Kawamura: Yes, I do. The rings, like the watches, are not large, but I like their unique design. Many of them are made of silver, so I think they blend in and link with the material of the wristwatch.

Swiss made with a high degree of perfection that looks great with mode clothes.

What are your impressions of the Seastar 1000?

Kawamura: I have never worn a wristwatch before, and it is a wonder that I fit in so well. The moderately thick rubber strap never came off and was always comfortable to wear.

How did the design look like?

Kawamura: The black dial and blue bezel blended together to create a luxurious design that attracted me. The design and comfort of the watch are perfect, despite its affordable price. I am still in my 20s and can afford the Sea Star 1000, and I think I can enjoy wearing it in a classy, mature way.

I asked you to style the watch to match this watch.

Kawamura: To complement the watch, we used the entire body to create a mode atmosphere. The shirt and pants set-up is by Yuki Hashimoto, and the transparent jacket is by Soe. The key point is the subtle peek of burgundy from the see-through top.

What other outfits do you think the Sea Star 1000 would go with?

Kawamura: The black dial gives it a luxurious feel, while the rubber strap gives it a casual aspect. It looks good not only with the mode styling that I like, but also with a casual look using denim. If it were me, I would probably wear it with a crisp band tee from the 80s. I think it's also appealing that it seems to be flexible enough to be worn with any kind of coordination.
