I usually prefer hot summers to fall.
Anyway, I love summer. I've started to receive some of the fall clothes I ordered, but to be honest, I'm not in the mood for them. My mind is occupied with how to fully enjoy the few remaining days of summer. How many more times can I go to the beach and pool?

BACH GARMENTS
Bach Garments Collection

Intelligent travel wear.
It has been a long time since we were able to travel easily. In this environment, we often hear that travel gear and travel bags are struggling. This is natural, of course, as there are fewer and fewer places to use them. However, there are items that can be used on a daily basis even if they have the concept of travel. Bach Garments is just such a collection. It is a series developed as an apparel line of the Swiss bag brand "Bach," and it is really well made. The bags have a lot of storage space, are packable, and are made of a fabric that does not wrinkle, which is probably the reason why this is a travel series. However, there are other brands that offer these three features. What I particularly like about Bach Garments is that it has a kind of intellectual feel to it. I often say that I like clothes that are sexy, but I also like items with a sense of intelligence. Even if they are made of a shaky material, they look classy, or as if they look like they have been reading a book. By the way, this collection can be worn both front and back, and seriously, both sides are great. It's very well thought out, anyway.

COMOLI
G-jacket of a gecko

Less is More
When people ask me, "What brand do you like best? I answer, "Komori. This has not changed over the past few years. However, I have been thinking that it would not be a good idea to introduce it too many times in this project just because I like it so much, so I have been trying to avoid showing it too much, but it has been a while, so forgive me. I finally bought a G-jan that everyone praises as a masterpiece. I heard that there is a line for it on the day it goes on sale. I could understand the secret of its popularity when I tried it on. It's just beautiful, this dress. And I am shaken by how beautifully it has been stripped down. Who said that it is more difficult to subtract than to add? What does it mean to be minimalistic, inorganic, and yet sexy? I wish I could be a man like these clothes.

LENO
Lino corduroy easy pants

Character wins.
I haven't been wearing corduroy pants for quite a while now, this and thatI'm not sure how much I can pull off corduroy, but I'm stuck on the "Lino" stuff. After all, corduroy is about how far you can go in terms of pulling the ruggedness out of the fabric. For example, unless you have a point of view like finding coolness in a roadside American guy who is probably not interested in fashion at all, it is normal to want to keep away from the drabness. But that's not necessarily the case, and that's what makes fashion so interesting. The "Lino" brand has an overall sense of loveliness rather than boorishness. It could also be described as clothes with character. Corduroy is a good fit for character.

WELLDER.
Welder's shirt

Half with kindness.
There are brands that I have always loved, and there are brands that I have recently become interested in. For me, Welder is the latter. If I were to talk about my personal preference, I like clothes that are somehow "round. I don't just mean that the details are round, but that the clothes are round in appearance. I am sorry to be so self-centered, but I had an image of "Welder" that way. However, recently, I have been finding many items that have a certain appeal to me. Have I changed or has the brand changed? What I like about this wool 100% shirt is that it has been washed, giving it a much gentler look. It has a crisp and bouncy feel, but it doesn't feel cold at all, and it has a kind of organic smell. Yes, I'm in the mood for something like this.

When passing people in the mountains, walk.
Because it's scary and dangerous. It is the minimum etiquette for running in the mountains, and many people are educated about it, yet many runners still run across the street. Why is this? It would be better to just walk, and it would look cooler that way.

VUORI
Vuori tank top

The superb texture overturns the common sense of sportswear.
Tank top season has arrived. However, I am in my mid-40s, so I am not sure I would wear a tank top on a daily basis, even if I were an elementary school student on summer vacation. I use tank tops as innerwear for everyday wear and as a single piece when running. Among these tank tops, the "STRATO TECH TANK" by Vuori, a brand from California, U.S.A., which has been gradually attracting attention in the running scene in recent years, was a personal hit this season. The material is made of a 4-way stretch fabric that is quick-drying, UV-protective, and soft and comfortable to wear. Like the previously introduced Crew Sweat, it is comfortable on the skin and overturns the common sense of sportswear. The exquisite color scheme is also to my liking. I am considering buying more of these as innerwear for the winter, not to mention for heavy use in the summer.

XERO SHOES
Zero Shoes Amphibious Shoes

Hybrid shoes that can play anywhere: ocean, river, mountains.
Trekking in midsummer is hot. Or rather, you sweat a lot. After a few hours in the mountains, I often find that my shoes are soaked with sweat (or maybe I'm just a sweaty person...). You can avoid this problem to some extent by choosing socks and shoes, but I would like to solve this problem from the very beginning. That's why I'm interested in "M's Aqua X Sport" by Zero Shoes. This product is a fusion of water shoes and trail shoes. The upper is made of ultra-thin mesh material that does not contain water and allows it to drain out, and drain holes are placed in the toe area to promote ventilation. The insole is also made of a meatless type so that the feet can dry quickly. In addition, the zero-drop construction, thin sole, and 3.5 mm lugs on the outsole allow you to enjoy the natural motion unique to "Zero Shoes" in the ocean, rivers, and trails. These hybrid shoes are perfect for playing around in the summer fields, and we can't wait to try them out.

CNOC OUTDOOR
Knoch Outdoor Water Bottle

A convenient water bottle to have. It stands on its own and can be folded.
Lack of water in the mountains can be fatal. So, no matter how short the course is set, I always try to bring more water than I need, with a flask pocket on either side of the front as well as a spare in the main cargo compartment. However, if I use plastic bottles for all of that, it would be too bulky. This is where the Knok Outdoor water bottle comes in handy. The fabric is made of environmentally friendly BPA-free TPU material, and its excellent durability prevents water leakage. Weighing only 60 grams with a 1 liter capacity, the bottle is shaped like a comfortable plastic bottle, and it stands on its own when filled with water. Moreover, it can be folded up for compact storage once it is finished. I am planning to get one for the HACETSUNE race I plan to participate in in October.

Fine-track dry-layer cool

Wearing peace of mind, that is.
Sweat cold is scary. In fact, I've experienced it during a race when I was so cold that I had to abandon the race midway through. I was terrified when my body temperature did not rise even though I kept acting up. Since then, I have been using a tank top type of "Dry Layer Cool" from the Japanese brand "Fine Tracks" to prevent hypothermia caused by sweat chill. Just by wearing this under my base layer, I can keep my skin dry for a long time without sweat sticking to it. However, I bought it about four years ago. It was getting tired, so I looked at the website to buy a new one, and found that the material had been renewed from the old Power Mesh in 2020! The fabric has been changed to nylon for a smoother and cooler feel, and antibacterial and deodorant properties have been added. The sewing has also been made to be more gentle on the skin, making it the perfect garment for hotter seasons and races with lots of perspiration. This is the latest version of a masterpiece that eliminates the discomfort of perspiration and sometimes even protects your life. The price is reasonable, so I thought I would take this opportunity to buy more.

DAIWA PIER39
Daiwa Pier 39 Tech Perfect Fishing Jacket

I remember this pocket arrangement.
Perhaps it is because my tastes lean toward subculture, but I often learn about fashion from the greats of the past, such as Hollywood stars on the screen, rock musicians on stage, and pop icons who shaped an era. I used to imitate them by seeing what they wore many times and burning it into my eyes. So when I saw this "Tech Perfect Fishing Jacket" by Daiwapia 39 for the first time at an exhibition, I couldn't help but grin. The unique pocket layout, rounded flap pockets, and stand-up neck ...... are all the same as the jackets worn by pop icons, but I won't mention who they are because it's too much of a stretch. The only difference is that it is oversized and has been incorporated into contemporary street fashion. I am always amazed at how Daiwapia 39 creates clothes with fishing as the keyword, using a variety of sources and modern interpretations. After much deliberation, I ordered this olive color. It will be useful not only for everyday wear but also for fishing. Without a doubt, this was the jacket that hit the spot for me the most this season.

NEEDLES.
Needles zipper track pants

The new face of the truck series.
Continuing from last month, we have decided to introduce the "Needles" track pants again this month. As one would expect from an item similar to this one for two months in a row, we thought it would be best to introduce them here at ......, but we couldn't help but do so this time around. This is a new model in the track series with a zip at the hem of the length. Compared to the straight lengths we usually wear, the length is shorter and slightly tapered toward the hem for a clean look around the legs. This will come in handy when you want to emphasize your shoes or for more active styling. Personally, I think it would be interesting to wear them with white low-cut sneakers to make the legs look lighter, or on the other hand, in winter, with work boots or trekking boots with the zip open.@nepenthes_newyorkI saw a cool crew neck set-up posted on the instagram of a guy who wears a crew neck, so I'm going to try to copy him.

SALOMON
Salomon's XT-6 FT

Third refill this year!
I'm still hooked on "Salomon" sneakers. This spring, I acquired three pairs in quick succession and have been wearing them quite often. I could go on and on about the ease of quick lacing, the fit that wraps around the foot securely, the cushioning and stability of the sole unit, and so on, but what attracted me the most was the beautiful coloring. As you would expect from a French sports brand, each sneaker is decorated with vivid colors and unexpected color additions. For example, "XT-6 FT," which caught my attention during the 2021AW season, is sublimed into a modern impression by adding light purple to the earthy color scheme of brown and yellow, or the monotone of white and black, respectively. This is not so easy to do in the U.S. market. Now, what kind of clothes should we match these sneakers with? Styling is fun while taking into consideration the color scheme! Salomon's sneakers are the kind of sneakers that inspire a desire to coordinate.

NEW LIFE PROJECT
New Life Project Bags

It is irresistible to those with a fetish for parts.
I personally check bags at the edge of the season. I want to buy clothes on time because of temperature issues, and I want to welcome a new season with a new bag. That's probably why. Since I don't change my bag from time to time, I prefer a simple design that can be matched with any outfit, but that still has a statement somewhere. For example, something with originality and attention to detail in its parts. In that sense, the "New Life Project," a newcomer launched in the 2021SS, is a very good bag for me. The "Eco Canvas Series" mini bags you see here are all classically designed, but the original ropes on the shoulders and the aluminum "R&W Tensioner," an aluminum part that adjusts the length of the rope, and other parts are simply superb. It is understated and goes with any outfit, but it is eye-catching. The R&W Tensioner is especially excellent, and like the flexible parts used for tents and tarps, it easily adjusts and fixes the length of the rope. The gear element tickles my appetite!

A celebration of sports.
The Olympics were full of twists and turns, and I wondered what would happen before the start of the games. Once the games started, I even checked out events that I usually don't watch, and I too was excited by the rush of medals from Japan. Then, as the curtain closed, the Olympics loss hit me. There are many things to think about, but I still love the excitement of sports.

kolor (color)
Colored Award Jacket

The one and only balance.
Every time, "Color" presents an unusual collection that betrays the expectations of clothing lovers in a good way. This fall/winter season is also packed with items that go beyond the imagination, and here we picked up a shawl collar award jacket. First of all, we would like to mention the wide silhouette. It is a pattern that can follow any body shape, and looks great whether worn as a true-size jacket by a large person or as a loose-fitting jacket by a petite person. The "k" badge on the front of the chest is a big, exaggerated "k". It is a cool design that is completely different from the collegiate-style items you see in old clothes. While based on a classic style, this piece has a hint of street style. One wrong move and it could be a bit of a mess, but the design is well balanced. This hybrid feel can only be achieved by "Color.

Thirteen Studios
Thirteen Studios Hoodie

The first hidden ball in fall and winter.
The other day, I went to visit the famous store "JOHN" in Yoyogi Uehara for the first time in a while. The reason was to meet Yuichi Danjo, the seemingly quiet but passionate owner of the store, who is passionate about fashion. After asking him about his recent activities, he showed me this hoodie. The wide, short silhouette, the natural color fading that makes it look like old clothes, and the super-thick body that you can tell from its appearance...everything is in perfect harmony. When we asked which brand they were from, the answer was "Thirteen Studios," which is run by New York-based artist Alec Mishan. He says, "A friend of mine in London happened to be connected with him, and he introduced me to him, which led to the development of the brand in "JOHN" as well (laugh). (Laughs)" A heavyweight sweatshirt made of two layers of fabric, one on the front and one on the back, and each piece is dyed in a special way. It's heavy and hard to wear at first, but as you wear it, you get used to it, or it grows on you. (Laughs)" There is probably no other place in Japan that carries this item. Stock is said to be low, so if you are interested in this item, please be sure to order as soon as possible.

LACOSTE
Lacoste polo shirt

All things are in flux.
My favorite item these days is the "L.12.12" polo shirt from Lacoste. Influenced by the book "American Tiger," which will be introduced in the next section, I wanted to dress in a preppy style for the first time in a while. I paired the polo shirt with vintage chino shorts and Allen Edmonds penny loafers. I hadn't worn these shoes in quite a while, and as expected, my feet hurt when I put them on (laughs). (Laughs.) But even these trivial things were enjoyable and made me feel fresh. Five or six years ago, I used to wear "Black Fleece" button-down shirts, "Levi's ®︎ Vintage Clothing" 501s (1947 model), and "Alden" leather shoes on a daily basis. Before I knew it, I was turning to the street. They say there is a cycle in fashion, and I am beginning to be interested in traditional things again. So here I picked up a long-sleeved Lacoste. It is a new, relaxed classic fit. The feature of this item is that it is made of eco-friendly organic cotton. The fabric is made from heavy, compact twisted yarn, so it is thicker and sturdier than "L.12.12". This is an environmentally friendly piece of clothing that still retains the classic smell. My preppy fever is likely to continue.

AMETORA
David Marks's book, "Ametora.

The truth about fashion that was never told.
The history of modern fashion begins in the postwar period. There are several books that I recommend to learn about it. The first one is "Paris Collection 20" (1996, Senken Shinbunsha). Akira Oda, a former reporter and fashion director of Senken Shimbun, explains the flow of Paris mode from the dawn of prêt-à-porter in the 1970s to the 1990s, using testimonies from designers in this excellent book. Next is "Street Fashion 1945-1995: 50 Years of Youth Style" (1995, Parco Publishing). This one is dedicated to Japanese fashion, and specifically introduces 40 styles that appeared in the 50 years from the end of the war, including Taiyo-zoku, Kaminari-zoku, DC boom, Shibu-kaje, and others, with photos. Another book is the photographic "American Tribe" (2017, DU Books). This is a history of clothing that uses in-depth interviews to unravel the Japanese American style that has been handed down from the birth of the Ivy to the present day. Moreover, the contents are not limited to "Van Djaket," but also cover a wide range of topics, including the history of Japanese jeans and the Urahara culture. Focusing on an aspect of Japanese men's fashion that no one else has touched, the author David Marks conducted detailed research and interviews with the people involved, and compiled the book. Actually, this is the first English version of the book,In Huinam, we spoke to David.I was looking forward to reading the book. I have been meaning to read it since the Japanese edition came out, but I never got around to it... I finally finished it the other day. I finally finished it the other day. I put it down for a long time, but it is really a wonderful book.
