Work style from a street perspective; a side of the shot that YouthQuake wears.

Schott, famous for its leather jackets, launched its "WORK IN STYLE" campaign on September 1 (Wed). This campaign features a lineup of new clothing that combines the original appeal of work items with the current trends. For this campaign, we asked YouthQuake, a creative crew who loves to wear workwear on a regular basis, to come together for a self-styling session.

The mood of YouthQuake is the complex that each of us transmits.

. Could you give us a brief overview of your individual activities?

Arashi:I am working on a brand called "AMIDA," which reconstructs kimonos and expresses them as new clothes.

Kazuho:I am working with Tsukasa on a brand called "FAKE ASS FLOWERS," or "FAF" for short.

Tsukasa:Yes, I am directing "F.A.F." with Kazuho. . Recently, we created a collaborative collection with "Mukuta" in Kobe and held a pop-up event.

Kei:I am working on a product label called "CarService," which is inspired by car culture and incorporates it into items.

Senan:I mainly paint. Mostly oil paintings, but I also paint digitally. I joined YouthQuake about a year ago. . I was originally living in the U.S. and went to the same school as Bobby, so I joined up with him when I returned to Japan.

Bobby:I also paint. I use silkscreen to express my art on canvas and clothing.

Do you have a particular style of fashion that is unique to YouthQuake, or is there a particular style that you prefer?

Kei:Each member has a different view of fashion, and I think this is a good thing. Everyone expresses what they want to do through their own brand or art, and we do not try to express ourselves in a uniform mood. Just because we are a crew does not mean that we are bound in any way, and we wear what we like.

Tsukasa:We are not a tight-knit crew, but rather a group of friends who were born in 1994, so as Kei says, we are all doing what we like to do, and if there is something we can do together, we join in on a project-by-project basis, and just go about it naturally. As Kei says, we are all doing what we like and if there is something we can do together, we join in on a project by project basis.

Kazuho:. Of course, we have the same tastes and preferences. But that is also because we have known each other for a long time. We are a group in which each member has a different means of expressing what he or she likes.

Tsukasa:In this sense, I think it may be a challenge for us in the future to work together as a crew in the same direction.

Kei:. We don't try to do everything separately, but sometimes we wear the same clothes as a uniform when we can decide on our own styling for a photo shoot. For example, we buy matching coats, and Bobby hand-paints the YouthQuake logo on them, and we all wear them together. For the stadium jackets that we released a while ago, we also made the jackets for sale and for the members to wear in different colors to give them a uniform look. This also expresses the sense of a crew.

. It is also a unique expression of the crew to appear in the media with everyone wearing the same uniform. . So, it seems that what each of you is expressing is the mood of the moment.

Arashi:Yes, I do.

. When I look back at the brands you have been working with, I see that you have different tastes, with some having a work style and others a mode of expression. . But I also feel that there is a sense of good old-fashioned American casual wear.

Kazuho:Yes, that is true.

Kei:. Everyone likes vintage clothing, you know. . In fact, I often check vintage clothing stores myself.

Senan:I often paint in overalls as work clothes, so I may naturally gravitate toward that style.

Tsukasa:. yes, I know. Work style in the true sense of the word. In fact, the clothes I bought recently are all workwear and vintage clothes.
