-What is the key to wearing a single jacket?
The silhouette of the [Germano] pants is slightly tapered, but the hem width and knee width are only about 2 cm apart, so they actually look a little flared out. The jacket I ordered from [DALQOLE] has a slightly longer length, so when I wear it with the jacket, it looks like it's from the 70s. I'm also wearing a western shirt inside, but I like to wear it buttoned up. In the past, the painter Picasso and the architect Le Corbusier used to wear their shirts buttoned up to the top, so I paid homage to them. Moccasin shoes and wool pants are another recent favorite.
-Do you have any criteria for selecting single jackets, Mr. Oshima?
I am very particular about the length of single jackets, as many of them look short. I do not choose a jacket with a short length. For me, the best length is one that completely covers the buttocks. I like tweed, corduroy, and other materials with a slightly stylish look. It is also interesting to match a tweed jacket with a linen shirt or madras plaid shirt in the fall or so to create a gap between the two.
-What is your personal rule when wearing a single jacket?
Single jackets are easier to layer with various items inside than double jackets, allowing for a wider range of wearing styles. For me, I enjoy wearing it freely without setting any particular rules. It is also very versatile with pants. As long as you match the color and material of the jacket, you can match it with relatively any pants.

A tweed jacket by DALQOLE and an off-white western shirt by RANGLER make for a rather stylish combination. Even without a tie, the buttons are fastened all the way to the top, which is Oshima's style. The checked wool pants have a tapered silhouette but look flared, so moccasin shoes are paired with them for balance.
