Hobbies that can be started in middle age.

-SHINKNOWNSUKE So you got hooked on mountain climbing with "Sawyer Mini".
FACE:The muddy water was the catalyst for our activities, and that is why our name was changed to Muddy Waterz in English. I thought the word "Muddy Waters" sounded familiar to me, but then I read the lyrics of Hanaregumi's song "Muddy Waters. I looked it up and found that he was a famous blues singer who is called the "father of Chicago blues. He was strangely austere, and I liked that too.
SHINKNOWNSUKE:I felt very much at home. I thought it was similar to my own view of life, where everything was going wrong and I had to walk through the muddy streets.
FACE:The name of the program, "TOO YOUNG TO KNOW," comes from the name of a Muddy Waters song. We talk about various contents with a middle-aged theme, and there are many things that young people don't understand, so we thought it would be a good fit.
-The program is neat, isn't it? They even solicit emails from listeners.
FACE:I wanted to do the same project for "RaZine in Shibuya" to solicit e-mails, but it didn't go so well. . so I tried it based on my failure, and I got into it well.
SHINKNOWNSUKE:I was happy to get an email from Mr. Bohra properly . The number of emails we get is still small, so the probability of being read is high, and people send a lot of them to us. It's growing nicely as a radio, with words born from e-mails, and other Bowhlers recognizing Bowhlers who send e-mails often.

-What is Mr. Bohra?
Ioka:It is a name that sums up our listeners. . because we are the muddy waters.
SHINKNOWNSUKE:I thought it was a bad idea to call our listeners bowflies, so I first recruited them via Twitter. But the impact of "bow flap" was too strong, so we ended up with this one. . But for us, it's not a bad interpretation.
FACE:. yes, I do. I want them to become mosquitoes and fly away. By the way, female listeners call me Paramehi-Musume (Musume).
-There are two patterns (laughs). How do you feel about actually continuing?
Ioka:. honestly, I didn't think it would last long enough to become my life's work. I thought that if I delivered it once a week, I would run out of topics and it wouldn't continue. But it has continued. I don't talk about much, though.
FACE:Both of you have been more aggressive lately, talking and reading e-mails.
SHINKNOWNSUKE:I'm glad I started radio and started challenging myself to try everything anyway because everything is a story.
FACE:That's already a comedian (laughs).
SHINKNOWNSUKE:I dare to get into trouble (laughs).

-. you put your body on the line for a story (laughs). TOO YOUNG TO KNOW" has been open for about a year. The radio is distributed weekly, but how often do you climb mountains?
FACE:In case you are wondering, our theme is "Art for everyday, Radio for everyday, Hiking for sometimes" . . In short, art and radio for everyday, but hiking for sometimes. . maybe 5 or 6 times a year.
SHINKNOWNSUKE:I am not a hard hiker.
Ioka:I am a low-mountain hiker who goes to mountains that can be done in a day trip and have a strong hiking component.
FACE:Physically, low mountains are just right.
Ioka:. We had high aspirations at first.
SHINKNOWNSUKE:You went to the hard mountain together, and you learned your lesson, didn't you?
FACE:I had to move around and climbed up from a non-recommended course, and it was hell. It was midsummer and the temperature was 36 degrees . Not a single scenic spot.
Ioka:I thought I could make it up in about 15 minutes, so I asked an old hiker I passed, "How much longer to the summit? He told me "one hour," which broke my heart (laughs). . I made a brave decision and went back down the mountain.
FACE:We told ourselves that we were cool to get off halfway up the mountain (laughs). (laughs). Because of that, I feel that hiking is better than climbing, or even having a picnic if I wanted to (laughs). I want to continue for a long time without becoming too stoic.
SHINKNOWNSUKE:I was gutted to hear that.

-I think it is best to enjoy it in a style that suits you.
FACE:No matter how low the climb, though, I will try to use high-spec items (laughs).
SHINKNOWNSUKE:It's true (laughs). The grandmothers are climbing in T-shirts and jerseys, but we are all rigidly equipped (laughs).
Ioka:I also have carbon trekking poles (laughs).
FACE:I was talking with an old man who has been climbing for about 30 years, and he laughed at me and said, "You're not very fit," and I said, "You're wearing nice clothes. You're wearing good clothes, aren't you? He complimented me only on my clothing (laughs).
-(laughs). But the way you look is also a motivator, isn't it?
SHINKNOWNSUKE:. maybe that's the biggest thing. I want to try it on, wear it, and use it . There are things that can only be understood after actually using them.
Ioka:I also started wearing "Salomon" on a regular basis after climbing mountains. It is interesting to find hints and tips for layering that can be incorporated into everyday wear.
