Boot T teaches us new values.
Bootlegs are edu-cation."
So says Goro, owner of "MIN-NANO," a store in Ikegami. As a former member of the band "Comeback My Daughters," Goro has always been crazy about hardcore and punk, and the T-shirt he picked up is a music one. The T-shirt he picked up is a boot T-shirt of the British pop duo "Everything But the Girl.
I originally liked this group, but nowadays the price of vintage van T's is skyrocketing. I didn't like the size of many of them. But this one has a Los Angeles Apparel body, which I like, and I like the faded black color, so I've been wearing it a lot lately.

This is a piece that shines with a unique bootleg design not found in the official version. Goro was also attracted by the bootleg's no-sales attitude of only accepting preorders for 24 hours and never selling them again.
He learned about these T-shirts from Mr. Taka, a staff member of "dude inn," a store in Hiratsuka that deals in imported and secondhand clothing. Goro seems to be attracted not only to the design but also to the culture of bootleg clothing itself.
Boot T-shirts often have designs that are not official or are inspired by vintage items, and I think there is an aspect of picking up on culture that has not yet been discovered. So, through the T-shirts, we are taught things we didn't know before. It's like education, so to speak. It is interesting to be able to encounter things that are hard to find in Japan, such as movies, culture, and things that have become a meme in the U.S."
Goro seems to be well versed in fashion and music, but his curiosity is far from exhausted. I'm getting tired of the ones with prints on the chest and back," he says, "so these days I'm in the mood for T-shirts with a big print on the front. Goro's choice of T-shirts gives us a glimpse into the image of a hip adult who never forgets to be inquisitive.
