Where Shall We Go Wearing BEAMS VOL.2 SHEN TANAKA (Artist)

Tanaka:This restaurant has a great selection of natural wines. A friend of mine works here , and that's how I started coming here. The manager, Mr. Morita, teaches me not only about the wines but also about pairing them with food.

Yoshikawa:I love to drink. My hometown is Niigata, so I drink sake, and my wife is from Miyazaki, so I often drink shochu. Recently, a natural wine store opened near my house, and I went there and found it to be very delicious.

Tanaka:Mr. Yoshikawa, if you prefer white or red, which do you prefer?

Yoshikawa:I like the red color. How about you, Mr. Shen?

Tanaka:I'm a red too. I like the deep, heavy kind.

Yoshikawa:I too prefer a robust flavor rather than a light one. Shen , you seem strong.

Tanaka:. I'm not a frequent drinker, so I like drinks with a strong, concentrated flavor. This restaurant always serves good wine, so I tend to drink a lot.

Yoshikawa:The aroma is kind of smoky.

Tanaka:Very easy to drink!

Yoshikawa:I recently drank a wine that had a picture of a gluggly picture on the etiket, and I kept saying "gluggly delicious" as I drank it (laughs).

Tanaka:The conversation is elementary school , are you okay with that (laughs)?

Yoshikawa:There was no other way to express myself (laughs).

Tanaka:It depends on the time of year, but sometimes I would come here once or twice a week at the most. We would have a quick drink and go out to eat, or I would meet a friend here and we would drink while waiting. Morita-san is a genius at pairing wines, and he would always suggest what kind of wine would go well with this meal.

Yoshikawa:It's a very mature way to drink! I have not drank much wine in the past , so I want to know more about it. . once I get to know the taste of these delicious wines.

Tanaka:Mr. Yoshikawa, once you develop an interest, you seem to go all out, don't you?

Yoshikawa:. I guess so. . I'm the type of person who, if I'm interested, I'll give it a try anyway.

Yoshikawa:Oh! That's very solid. I love the feel of this.

Tanaka:It's firm but not clingy. I like the way it doesn't leave too much of a residue. It is very elegant.

Yoshikawa:Since you are coming to a wine shop , I tried to make a mature styling. I imagined a set-up that could be worn even in winter, and used a fabric with ridges like corduroy.

Tanaka:I like the loose silhouette. It also has a casual mood.

Yoshikawa:. It is stretchy, so it is very easy to move around in. We designed it so that it can be worn sporty as well.

Tanaka:It's nice! I might feel more comfortable as a woman if it's not too tight. . It is easier for me to communicate with a woman if there is a little looseness. I now realize that comfort affects communication as well. I should have at least worn a skirt (laughs).

Tanaka:. I chose it because I thought the purple inside was cute. . This is reversible, isn't it?

Yoshikawa:. This is also inspired by items from the outdoor brands of the 90s. The combination of natural beige colors and bright colors creates the mood of the time. . However, the size of the items is larger to fit the current mood. Basically, I think that outdoor items prioritize functionality in order to protect the body, but I have arranged them from a fashion point of view.

Tanaka:It is important to know the basics well and then arrange them. When I hear that, I feel differently about the same outfit. There is a big difference between knowing and not knowing.

Yoshikawa:It's more interesting to know.

Tanaka:It makes me feel attached to it. I feel more attached to it. In the past, I was only concerned about fashion, but if I pay attention not only to the design but also to the roots of the details, I can enjoy it more.

Yoshikawa:That's right. When we make clothes, we design with this in mind.

Tanaka:When I receive such essence in a moment like this, when I am having a drink, I feel like I am getting something out of it.

Yoshikawa:It was a lot of fun! I discovered many things, and since Mr. Shen was a very friendly person, it was easy to get in touch with him. I am sure he is always in such a mood and makes everyone around him happy.

Tanaka:I'm very happy! Thank you very much! . It is comfortable to be able to be in one's natural state, just as one is, isn't it? I also thought that Mr. Kikkawa must have a very open mind, because he was not nervous even though he is a director and a great person. I thought he must be a very open-minded person, because he didn't seem nervous, even though he is a very important person. I thought he was very attractive because he was not uptight, in a good sense.

Yoshikawa:It's important not to be over-enthusiastic.

Tanaka:Yes, yes! I get so nervous (laughs).

Tanaka:When I was in junior high school, I saw someone carrying a "BEAMS" shopping bag in my hometown, and I thought to myself, "That person is so stylish. Walking around with that bag was, in a sense, status. It is the kind of store that I admire. But on the other hand, it also gives the impression of being familiar, and I think that wide range is what makes it so appealing. I hope it will continue to be that way in the future.

Yoshikawa:Thank you very much! When I was a teenager, I used to think that someone carrying a "BEAMS" bag was fashionable. . Even though I am now in the opposite position, on the side of those who create admiration, I still remember how I felt back then. Recently, the number of young staff members has been increasing, and I will work together with them to make the next step forward.
