Go Go Round This Lake BIWA!

Two days of fishing in Lake Biwa! Autumn camp of HOUYHNHNM FISHING CLUB.

The year is fast approaching its end. Fishing is the perfect diversion for the HOUYHNHNM FISHING CLUB in the midst of our fast-paced lives. The time spent reeling in the great outdoors is therapeutic, and the preparations and fantasies leading up to the day of the event keep us excited. Now, where shall we go? After much planning, we decided on Lake Biwa, the Mecca of bass fishing in Japan, as our destination! This was my third visit. This was my third visit to Lake Biwa, and I enjoyed a different kind of fishing on this two-day, one-night fishing trip.

The feeling of feeling the vast Lake Biwa on your skin.

We immediately started by bobbing around and standing in the lake! It was the end of October and the water temperature had dropped, but it was warm enough to make you sweat a little when moving. The difference in temperature is pleasant.

Ishii: Since one of the objectives of HOUYHNHNM FISHING CLUB is to play with nature through fishing, it feels good to directly feel Lake Biwa. It reminds me of the feeling of walking through puddles when I was a child, and I feel like a child again.

Murayama: The view is unmatched by other lakes, and it's so nice. This is my first time wading for bass fishing, and it has been three years since I have fished from land. I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm going to give it a try.

Saisu:Lake Biwa has beautiful water quality and nice scenery. Wading for the first time is also fresh. At first, I throw spinner baits for search.

Hayashida:It's my first time at Lake Biwa, and there are many things I don't understand, but I feel like I can catch fish. Wading is also fun. This kind of bass fishing is one of the ways to enjoy fishing!

Komatsu:Just entering the lake is a different feeling from usual bass fishing. It is also a pleasure to cast as far as you can. But where to aim? It is difficult to judge the terrain, but it is also fun!

All were pleased with the unusual feeling of casting while immersed in the lake. However, there was no response from the bass, and it seemed that they were not at home. We decided to move to a different point.
