You mainly deal in cassette tapes at waltz, but how do you select your products?
It's a sensible thing to do, but it's something that fits the taste of our store. We don't buy all the cassette tapes in the world, but we curate music that can be played in the store to create a "waltz" atmosphere. When we play music on cassette tapes in the store during business hours, we get a lot of customers who ask, "What's playing right now? and many people buy them.

What is the appeal of cassette tapes?
I am attracted to the thoughts and feelings that come from "things. As I get older, I feel this more and more, but my interest and curiosity are gradually waning. If I don't, life becomes less interesting, doesn't it? Whether it is a cassette tape, a record, a magazine, or a watch, I believe that the feelings of "I want to listen to this," "I want this," or "I want to collect this" that arise when I hold something in my hands are necessary for life.
Personally, I have strong feelings that way, especially toward analog things. I think digital things make our lives more convenient, but I don't feel much attachment to the data itself, saying, "This MP3 is good.

So I understand the "analog life" proposal that you have shared with us. The more I am surrounded by analog things that have a sense of touch and reality, the more I feel at ease and want to reevaluate my life. There is a sense of spending one's time following one's curiosity. I try not to look at social networking sites, where people's information flows, more than necessary, although it is unavoidable when working in the modern world.
Do you have any tips on how to pursue what you love without being influenced by the information of others?
I think it is a matter of taking the time to decide if you really like it or not. People who enjoy records now may eventually move on to subs, which are convenient and easy to listen to music.
In such a situation, I began to think that if cassette tapes were to be consumed in a matter of seconds after being touted as a trend, as "I hear cassettes are in vogue now," it would be better to convey the appeal of cassette tapes by keeping them alive for a long time, not really knowing whether they are in vogue or not. With that in mind, I have been disseminating information at my own pace.

How do you spend your time on your days off?
I don't have time off. My hobby and my work are so closely connected that everything I do is connected to my work. I come to the store even on Mondays, when it is closed. This is my office, my room, a space where I am surrounded by things I like. I am very happy to spend time here listening to music in a situation where I know no one will come.

When do you become most conscious of time in your daily life?
I am always aware of the time, whether I have desk work to finish before the 1:00 p.m. opening or have to deliver products, I always keep an eye on the clock.
Also, I go to the mailbox each time I receive an order from the online store, so I pack it in time for pickup. I keep time by looking at my wristwatch and saying, "I have to go take it out in a few minutes. For me, an analog watch is more convenient than a digital watch on a smartphone, because it is easy to count backwards.

How do you feel when you try on "Q Timex" this time?
I had never worn one and was curious. The metal band is elegant, but also tough enough to be used hard. And it is lighter than it looks. I have to do a lot of hard work every day, such as delivering goods and taking inventory, which requires me to carry large cardboard boxes, so I like this kind of watch.
How did you come across Timex?
A friend of mine gave me the "Original Camper" as a gift and I wore it, and when I was about 30 years old, I wore the "Ironman®" for practice and competitions when I was getting into road biking.
Ironman®" also played an active role for me when I participated in the Honolulu Century Ride, a 100-mile endurance race in Honolulu. Timex® has a rugged and masculine atmosphere, which I personally like.

How do you think it goes with your own fashion?
As is the case today, I usually like vintage clothes and wear them often. As I said before, I do a lot of heavy lifting and work, so clothes that I can wear without worrying and that are still easy to move in have become my staple. There is a mature presence that elegantly tightens up such casual outfits, isn't there?
