The "Harajuku Pack" was inspired by Tokyo in the 1990s.
New York, Jamaica, Manchester.... For the past several years, "Clarks Originals" has featured cities that have a special connection to the brand in its campaigns, but the Fall/Winter 2024 campaign will mark the end of this tradition. The final city chosen for the campaign is Tokyo. The "Harajuku Pack" was created to focus on Harajuku.
Clarks Originals" has been developing iconic models within "Clarks". The "Harajuku Pack" is based on the "Desert Boot" created in 1950 and the "Wallaby" created in 1968.
The upper is inspired by Harajuku, Tokyo in the 1990s, with details typical of that era. The background of the casual use of leopard, which was used by high-end brands, is reflected in the croco-embossed and leopard print, while the military-derived chamois pattern, which was incorporated into everyday wear, is expressed in British Miralane waxed cotton, creating a finish that is unique in terms of its materials and patterns. The collection is also available in a wide range of colors and patterns.
Back in the 1990s, "Clarks Originals" shoes were popular in Tokyo as well as in New York and several other cities at the same time. But why was this? Let's take a glimpse into the Harajuku area and the 90's from my own personal memories.
