A boy who chose to be "special".
Please tell us about your fashion. What kind of clothes do you usually like to wear?
Kaneko: Black is by far the most common color. I really want to wear colorful clothes, but I haven't had the courage to do so.... So today was a great opportunity for me to see Lacoste's colorful clothes. They all looked great.
Have you heard of Lacoste?
Kaneko: Of course. We met when we were in middle school.
How?
Kaneko: I went to school for three years with a [Lacoste] bag. Today, I feel like I have recovered the foreshadowing of my life (laughs).
Why did you choose a Lacoste bag again?
Kaneko: At the time, it was on sale at a sports store near my house, and I didn't have any friends around me who used Lacoste, so I thought, "This is it! I thought, "This is it! Of course, I had never heard of Lacoste at the time, but I felt that having the bag made me "a little bit special. I'm not like you guys!" (laughs).
It has been more than 10 years since then, and today you have reunited with Lacoste. How did you like it?
Kaneko: Lacoste is a cool brand, isn't it? Comfort is also important for me when choosing clothes, and the polo shirts and other clothes were very comfortable to wear. There is also a certain elegance to it.
What are called "universal" items are often updated in subtle ways that are not obvious at first glance. Kaneko: Indeed, you may be right. I thought it would have a more classic shape, but I feel comfortable wearing it with today's fashion.
How was the comfort of the sneakers?
Kaneko: It was good. I thought the cushioning would work well and I wouldn't get tired after a long walk, and they are lighter than they look.

I am the type of person who, if I like it, will wear it every day, so I would wear polo shirts and sneakers every day. My ideal is "easy and fashionable," so I think these items will help me achieve that.
What else did you wear today that left a lasting impression on you?
Kaneko: All of them were really nice, but I really liked the one I wore for the bed scene. I wear shorts all the time in the summer, but shorts tend to look sloppy, don't you think? I don't mind that look, but I think the Lacoste set-up makes it look solid. I don't feel embarrassed in this way.
I think Lacoste may become a part of your long career as an actor.
Kaneko: I am sure that Lacoste's clothes will fit me from time to time, even as I get older. Polo shirts are not age-neutral, for example.
What kind of actor do you want to be in the future?
Kaneko: I would like to do what I can do at my age without growing too tall. I think that the interesting thing about being an actor is that you can transform unpleasant, embarrassing, or even bad parts of yourself into art, so I would like to continue to experience as many things as possible. No matter what role I play, I will try to be as realistic as possible, without stretching myself.
