-I heard that you recently purchased a "Brompton". What made you decide to buy it?
Lee: Two years ago, there was an "ash design & craft fair" held in Kagoshima, and I participated in the event with "blue I had the opportunity to test ride a "Brompton" at the event, and I said to myself, "If this is what it takes, I'll ride one! I had a chance to test ride a Brompton there, and I thought, "I can ride a Brompton too! I thought, "I can ride a Brompton," and bought one.
-What exactly do you mean by "I can get on board with this"?
Lee: I've always had a hard time driving a bicycle.... I can't handle big bicycles. But Brompton bicycles don't go very fast, in a good way, and the tires are not too thin, so they are stable and not scary to ride. And of course, they look cute.
-Was it also an advantage that it could be folded?
Lee: That was the main reason I bought it. I often go out drinking, and of course I can't ride my bicycle afterwards. But with the Brompton, I can ride my bike there and take a cab on the way back.
-What other advantages have you noticed since you bought it?
Lee: In Hokkaido, it snows in winter, so I can't ride my bicycle. But I don't want to leave it outside. But the foldable design makes it easy to store inside the house. It doesn't take up much space at all. Also, there are many times when I am away from home for long periods of time, but I can leave my Brompton at home, so I don't have to worry about it being stolen.
-How do you like it folded?
Lee: It's really easy once you get used to it, probably less than a minute.
-Do you sometimes take your Brompton with you on your travels?
Lee: Last summer I went to a place that didn't have much transportation, and I took it with me. We loaded it onto a plane.
-I see. How was it?
Lee: There were no trains or frequent buses. If I wanted to go to a convenience store, it would take several tens of minutes on foot. But with the Brompton, I didn't have to worry about the distance, and I was able to get to the convenience store quickly and get around wherever I wanted to go. Even if I ran into an acquaintance and asked him to get in the car, I would be able to take him with me. I really felt the mobility of the car.
Lee: I can attach the luggage to the front with a clunk, so it's easy to move around with heavy art materials. It is not difficult at all to install. By the way, the bag I am attaching is an original "Blue Rag" bag.
