I wanted to feel the good feeling of exercise.

PROFILE

Born in San Francisco, U.S.A., she came to Japan at the age of 20 and worked as a model for 6 years before moving her base to Los Angeles. 2023 she returned to Japan again and appeared in fashion media, brand looks, TV commercials and advertisements.

-When did you start serious training?

MEI: I have been taking private Pilates classes for 2 years and started personal training last summer. I always liked to exercise, but I didn't do much at all, except for occasional running.

-What sports have you played so far?

MEI: I've been playing softball, track and field, cheerleading, and yoga for a long time in the US. I wanted to work out for the first time in a long time. I wanted to feel the good feeling of exercise on a daily basis. In personal training, I work out my whole body.

-I think it's important to be physically active in the modeling business, as they say.

MEI: Yes, I have been working as a model since I was 20 years old, but now that I am 30, I feel like I need to take better care of my body.

-Do you feel a change after receiving one-on-one guidance?

MEI: I feel pretty good about it. I look and feel better, and my mind is clearer. I sleep better and I feel lighter.

-How often do you go there?

MEI: I go once a week, but I would like to go more. My goal for this year is to train twice as much as I do now.

-Do you work out on the days you are not here?

MEI: I continue to do Pilates and go to another Pilates. And sometimes running. I would love to go to a non-personal gym, but I just don't have the time. Working out is now my hobby.

-I have the image that more people exercise in the U.S. than in Japan.

MEI: Yes, it is. Going to the gym is the norm. Regardless of age, going to the gym is a daily routine, a habit for everyone. There are an overwhelming number of gyms. There are many different kinds of machines, and you can take many different kinds of lessons. So I was grateful to be introduced to this "HABIT" place.
