Moncler and Jil Sander collaborate for the first time since the beginning of their history.

Jil Sander excels not only in its modern, stripped-down appearance, but also in its design work that takes the concept of functionality very seriously.

This stance is clearly expressed in the collaborations. It is clearly different from creating a buzz, and one can clearly sense the respect for the heritage that has been carefully nurtured.

This can be seen by looking back at the brands with which we have collaborated. Without exception, they have all made a name for themselves as specialists in their field (mountains for mountains, oceans for oceans). When we hear that such a maison has teamed up with "MONCLER" for the first time in its history, we are tempted to pick up a pair.

The samples I actually saw exceeded my expectations, which were as inflated as down jackets themselves. The lineup included a total of 20 models as part of the Moncler Genius collection, and among them, the down jackets were particularly strong.

Metal emblems only this time.

Moncler's own "DIST" certification tag, which indicates high-quality down.

A reversible jacket in navy blue with white at the hem and sleeves, or an egg-colored shirt jacket with a glossy sheen. The former is made of washed light-weight cotton, and the latter of semi-shiny nylon.

Other pieces are made of washed cotton and have a retro look.

The colors and fabrics are all modern, but it is the silhouette that sets them apart from conventional down jackets that is the quintessential feature. I was told that Jil Sander created the design from scratch and used Moncler's technology to give it shape.

The full reveal will take place on Tuesday, November 18. A pop-up store will open at Isetan Shinjuku the following day.
