Due in part to the Corona disaster, there have been changes in our lives. Many people are spending more time at home and thinking more than before.
At such a time, Megu Nakano, a mixed media artist, will hold her solo exhibition "MIKKABOZU HOME" focusing on her daily life at "Studio 4N Daikanyama" for seven days from July 18 (Sat.) to 24 (Fri.) , 2012.
Megu Nakano is a mixed media artist born in Japan and raised in the Philippines . Self-taught in her craft, she is currently based in Tokyo and has held solo exhibitions in Ebisu, Nakameguro, and Kabukicho.
In this exhibition, Megu Nakano, who is a changeable, three-day-a-week person, will be showing her daily life as seen through her eyes in comical expressions. Please take a look at some of the unique works on display.
This solo exhibition will feature a variety of approaches, both three-dimensional and two-dimensional, including acrylic paintings, drawings, wire art, sculptures, and installations.
They combine everyday scenes that might otherwise be overlooked, and all of them are put into a catchy and funnier atmosphere. The goofy mail-order show "Mickaboo's Shopping" in particular is a must-see, as it explodes with a unique worldview. Relax and enjoy it.
The exhibit will also include items for sale, such as a T-shirt with a fried egg for breakfast theme, a zine of works, and a DVD filled with works, commentary, and commercials disguised as a mail-order website.
. All of these items have the same looseness and deep worldview as the artwork. By immersing yourself in the daily lives of others, I am sure you will find a new perspective.
