Neon signs sometimes brighten up the night in Las Vegas and at other times cast a warm glow on the pitch-dark Route 66. Although LEDs have now taken their place, neon tubes have always been a part of the original landscape of Las Vegas that we longed for.

There is a neon artist who pays attention to these fading neon tubes and creates art pieces by manipulating the light at will. This is Waku, who became the talk of the town when he created the neon sign for the new Shibuya Parco. His solo exhibition "In Person" held earlier this year at the Harajuku art space "COMMON" was well received, and he has now released a new work, which will be exhibited at the select store "ISETAN SALONE" operated by Isetan.

In this exhibition, he presents his first three-dimensional work in the form of a stand. Inspired by the reflection of mountains on the Sea of Japan that he saw when he visited Ine Town located in the northern part of Kyoto Prefecture, this is an ambitious work in which a three-dimensional object inside a case is made to emit light, bringing out an aspect of irregularly shaped light as a reflection.

The soft light of neon tubes has a mysterious magic that draws you in without reason. Why not visit during this four-day weekend?
