Jil Sander's Spring/Summer 2022 collection was irresistibly light and buoyant.
Knitwear was the symbol of such a season.
One is a long sleeve knit inspired by the work of Donald Judd. . Donald was an American artist praised as the standard bearer of the minimalist movement. The multi-colored block, which is no doubt appreciated by posterity, is shown in a three-way knit of wool, silk, and linen. The neck, hem, and cuffs are ribbed.
. The other is an open knit of silk mohair layered with a long tee. The drop shoulder & oversized fit pushes the waste , and its knit is so light that it seems to fly in the air.
The lettering on the back of the T-shirt reads "AUTONOMY & CLARITY. The former means autonomy and self-governance, while the latter means clarity and distinctness. These are the keywords of the season, capturing people living borderless and aggressive lives.
The vivid color palette and typography are street-inspired, which creative directors Lucy and Luke Meyer love, but as you can see, they are extremely sophisticated. As always, we were amazed at the degree of sophistication.
This multi-colored block knit is a reference to the work of Donald Judd, known for his minimalist art. ¥347,600
A set of a long T and a knit, twice as good as one . Oversized fit matches street style. ¥148,500
