adidas, which has been making great strides in the running scene in recent years, has announced the ADIZERO ADIOS PRO EVO 2, the latest addition to its "adizero" racing shoe series.

This model is the successor to the ADIZERO ADIOS PRO EVO 1 (hereinafter referred to as "EVO 1"), which was introduced in September 2023 as the lightest-weight model in the history of adidas running shoes. The basic design and specifications are the same as the previous "EVO 1," and the ultra-lightweight design weighs in at 138 grams (27.0cm, one pair), the same as the previous model, with a price tag of over 80,000 yen.
To further enhance its performance, this new model has 3mm more LIGHTSTRIKE PRO EVO Foam, the next generation foam technology, in the forefoot. This is supposed to improve the energy return of the 5%.
The outsole has also been updated to further improve speed. The grip pattern has been significantly revamped.

On April 26, two days after the ADIZERO ADIOS PRO EVO 2 was unveiled, the "ADIZERO: ROAD TO RECORDS 2025" running event featuring the "adizero" was held on a special course at the adidas headquarters.
ADIZERO: ROAD TO RECORDS, first held in 2021, is a World Athletics-sanctioned race for the world's elite runners on an invitation-only basis, with 10 km, 5 km, 800 meter, and 1 mile races, respectively, and a total of 33 new world records set in the past four editions. In the past four editions, a total of 33 new world records have been set.
In the fifth edition of the event, Agnes Getichi of Kenya set a new world record in the women's 10 km road race with a time of 29:27, while four continental records were broken and four national records were set, for a total of 11 records broken. The shoes worn are of course all from the adizero series.
From Japan, student runners and industrial athletes with whom adidas has a partnership participated in the event. Top Japanese runners such as Asahi Kuroda of Aoyama Gakuin University, Takumi Orihashi of Soka University, and Yuhei Urano of Fujitsu wore "adizero" shoes and showed a high level of performance.
After the elite race, a 5K fun run was held for media representatives and local citizen runners. Our own Hui-Nam Running Club ♡ was also invited by adidas to participate in this event, and enjoyed a 5-kilometer run while feeling the high potential of the adizero.
Furthermore, at the London Marathon held on April 27, the day after "ADIZERO: ROAD TO RECORDS 2025" in London, England, Bastian Kimaru Sawe of Kenya, wearing the EVO 2, won the men's race in 2 hours, 2 minutes, and 27 seconds. Ethiopia's Tigisto Asefa, wearing the EVO 1, won the women's race in 2 hours, 15 minutes and 50 seconds, setting a new world record for a single women's race. The high performance of the adizero was demonstrated on the big stage.
