-Do you like outdoor fashion?
Kasamatsu: Well, I don't really like or dislike much about fashion. I think it's cool to match the place. And I think it's interesting and nice to dare to be out of place. In the past few years, there have been many shoots in the mountains, so I don't really think of myself as outdoorsy, but I often talked about how I liked the boots, the jacket, the blanket, and so on.
-In a previous interview, you mentioned that you like clothes with a story behind them.
Kasamatsu: Well, that's, you know, difficult (laughs). (Laughs.) It's not that I like vintage clothes. In my case, it's smaller, like I like what I have now, or I like you being with me. You never know what you will encounter next, and if the design changes a little, your impression will change as well. I think the accumulation of such encounters, the memories that explain them, and everything else is part of the story. I don't really know the definition of secondhand clothes, and there are some clothes that are too beautiful to be secondhand, but buying clothes that were worn as costumes is also secondhand. It's not that I would never buy something, but I like that kind of thing (laughs).
-I see... I think in terms of genres...
Kasamatsu: (As if covered) I don't want to think in such a way (laughs).
-I see (laughs). So, what kind of image do you have of "Elle Bean"?
Kasamatsu: As for items, maybe a vest. It's like an outdoorsy garment with a tag snapped on it. In "Gannibal," which was shot mostly in the mountains, there were several people wearing them in the film. I also have the impression that my parents liked clothes, so they probably wore them when they were children.
The use of color is also interesting. For example, there are yellow or purple letters under the embroidered logo, or the long T-shirt I wore today has a normal color on the front but a glimpse of color on the back. I think that kind of playfulness is cute.
-How did you like the field coat you wore today?
Kasamatsu: I've had people around me say it looks good on me, and I think the strength of "L.L. Bean" is that anyone can wear it. I value comfort more than looks, but the Field Coat is not tight and is easy to wear, including the silhouette. It is easy to match in daily life, and in the end, this is the kind of coat I would choose. I saw a female model wearing one and thought it was a cute shape. Then, in terms of the two models I wore, the black one is easier to match, I'm sure. But I also wondered if the tan-colored one I wore first would be more fashionable.
-The tan-colored one is a set-up, with matching colors on the top and bottom.
Kasamatsu: Then it's this one in tan color (laughs).
-(laughs).
Kasamatsu: But that's the story. If the brand itself says this one is better, then I will wear this one. Both are easy to wear, so I would like to choose the one that has a story to tell.
