“The miracle of ”a gem born from an incomplete product.

Ms. Ohana introduces her personal "Hermes" bag. I think many of our readers would be interested in this bag.

Oka: Workout gear and my car were my first candidates. Then he said, "That sounds great! Do you have any other candidates?" (laugh). I thought that something a little more fashion-oriented might be better, so I chose this.

I apologize for my selfishness! This time, I'd like to introduce you to HERMES' Garden Party in Amazonia. I was unfamiliar with Amazonia, so I looked it up and found that it was a material that debuted in the 1998 spring/summer season.

Oka: It seems that "Hermès" developed this material in order to see if they could create a leather-like material using latex (raw rubber), and at that time, it was used for a wide range of items up to the "Birkin" in the higher classes, aiming to become a standard series. The "Garden Party" lineup included a wide variety of sizes. However, it seems that Amazonia was discontinued after about 10 years due to a lack of understanding about the deterioration of the material over time.

So you brought several sizes.

Oka: I have given some of them away to other people, so I have about six left. Among them, I have a boot case for horseback riding.

According to Mr. Ohana, the "Garden Party" is simple, relatively lightweight, and easy to use. I like the fact that I can put a lot of stuff in it without being too heavy. The sizes, from left to right, are TPM, PM, and GM. I didn't want them to become popular and skyrocket in price, so I avoided introducing them in the media until now (laughs).

Which of the following is most frequently used?

Oka: I used to carry the smaller size TPM a lot for a while because of its ease of use. However, I usually travel by car and carry everything from outerwear to gym gear, so as a result, I tend to carry the largest size GM in terms of frequency of use.

The expression created by this deterioration over time is also indescribably interesting.

Oka: When I first got it, it wasn't this bad, but the surface coating just fell off when I rubbed it. It was interesting to see how it fell off, so I tried rubbing sand on it in the sandbox at a local park and this is what happened (laughs).

Hermes" has been introduced in various media as one of Mr. Ohana's favorite items. For example, the Rolex "Explorer 1" that she replaced with the company's leather band, and the silver ring that she wears to blend in with her "goro's" pinky ring. Was this bag also a favorite of yours from before?

Oka: I think it was about 10 years ago. I had a senior who had a bag identical to this one. My senior's had more of the underlying campus material exposed, so much so that I thought it was an aged branded bag. According to him, he bought it new and noticed that it had become that way. I thought it was a beautiful and stylish look. I can't imagine myself walking around with a shiny "Birkin," but I thought I could carry a "Hermes" with this.

When you see Mr. Ohana holding a "Birkin," you may think, "That's unexpected.

Oka: I really like the words "unexpectedness" and "discomfort" themselves. I don't like heavy bags to begin with. In the case of "Garden Party," it is a simple tote bag made of cotton canvas, so it should be light and easy to use.

I see that you also do sticker customization.

Oka: N. Hollywood Test Products This is a "wearable sticker" from . The sticker is applied on top of a clear sheet to create a pocket on the inside, so that IC cards such as Suica can be inserted, and the user can quickly pass through station gates. However, in this age of mobile devices, I don't recommend that use anymore (laughs). The other is a sticker I got from a museum in Finland. It's kind of cute, isn't it?

The GM size, which is most frequently used, has been customized with his own stickers. The highly saturated orange and green tones complement the rough texture of the body. It's a natural match, as if it had been there from the beginning," says Ohana. On the ring finger of his left hand, he casually wears a "Chrome Hearts" ring.

I am very impressed with the way you have been aging your bags and even customizing them with stickers. It seems to me that this is a very typical way for you to deal with "Hermes" bags.

Oka: I would go all out for something royal, but for everyday use, something easy to understand would be a bit embarrassing. In that sense, I found this one to be just right. I also like the fact that it is a “gem born from unfinished work.
