The difference in temperature is quite pleasant, and the air is calm and relaxing. After walking for a while, we started casting!
Ishii: Wading is fun because your legs are in the water, unlike boat or land-based fishing. I feel like I am enjoying nature with my whole body. Children like to play in the water, don't they? I feel like a child again.
Hiramoto: I have fished in the water for a little while on land, but this is the first time for me to stand in the water wearing waders. I feel it's beneficial to be able to cast to places I normally can't reach, and if I'm close enough, I can retrieve the fish even if it gets caught in a root. The water is colder than I expected, but it feels good.
The retro "DAIWA" cap is Matchan's trademark. The tackle and lures he uses are more than 20 years old. The first lure he chose was the "T.D. Vibration," a DAIWA classic that is still loved by anglers today.

Mr. Saisu usually rides a boat and mainly uses topwater plugs. But this time, he is trying a different approach to fishing. He is throwing the "Drive Beaver" by O.S.P., set up as a free-rig.
Saisu: I rarely use free-rigging, but the way I move it may be similar to tenya fishing for sea bream. I believe that fishing becomes better if you try everything. Anyway, I am learning a lot.
Komatsu also chose a free-rig. He decided to use the "Harry Shrimp" by Bottom Up. The size of the worm was larger than usual. I was too strong in my attempt to catch the Lake Biwa Dream. The line got tangled in the reel and I was seriously injured.
