Vol. 42: The Best Sneakers of the First Half of 2026.

With a vast number of new sneaker models released every day, there are so many attractive options that it’s hard to know which one to choose… This monthly series is here to serve as your guide when selecting sneakers. This installment’s theme is “The Best Sneakers of the First Half of 2026.” Three experts who work on the front lines of the sneaker scene every day have each carefully selected three pairs that symbolize the first half of this year. We’ll look back on the sneaker scene of the first half of 2026, sharing their reasons for choosing these pairs, their real-world comfort, and memorable stories along the way.

PR: Chiaki Fukuda's "Top 3 Picks for the First Half of 2026."

1) adidas Originals ZX 8000 G-SNK Predator
A pair of shoes that holds memories of soccer.

Adidas Originals “ZX 8000 G-SNK Predator” (from my personal collection)

Fukuda: This model was inspired by the “Predator” soccer cleats from . The “ZX 8000” was originally a running shoe, but we’ve blended it with soccer elements. Our inspiration comes from the “Predator Mania,” which debuted in 2002. Those elements are incorporated into the color scheme—based on black, red, and white—as well as the fine details. Since I’ve played soccer myself since elementary school, this story really resonated with me personally. This year, soccer-inspired items have really taken off, and I get the impression that wearing uniforms as everyday clothing has become quite natural. It has a striking visual impact and a soccer story behind it. I think it’s a pair of shoes that symbolizes the first half of 2026.

2) NIKE AIR MAX 95 BIG BUBBLE
A classic you'll want to wear over and over again.

Nike “AIR MAX 95 BIG BUBBLE” (My personal pair)

Fukuda: The “Air Max 95” is a classic that needs no introduction, but if we’re talking about the best of the first half of 2026, I just can’t leave it out. Here at Atmos, we’ve been promoting the “Air Max 95” for a long time, and I think it’s one of the models that really symbolizes the first half of the year. The one I chose is the so-called “Neon” version. It’s the classic of classics, but I think it’s great to deliberately go with a surefire choice here. It looks cool no matter how many times I see it, and you can never have too many pairs. Right now, I think pairing an “Air Max 95” with a soccer jersey is a great look. It has a bit of a UK vibe and goes well with shorts, too. No matter how many times it’s reissued, it’s a model that always makes me think, ‘Yeah, this is really great.’”

3) JORDAN AIR JORDAN 1 LOW BRED
The Jordans I Want to Wear Right Now.

Jordan “AIR JORDAN 1 LOW BRED” (from his personal collection)

Fukuda: This is the “Air Jordan 1 LOW” in Bread colorway. It goes without saying, but right now is exactly when I feel like wearing these. It seems the frenzy isn’t quite as intense as it used to be, but that’s actually part of the appeal. Precisely because it’s different from back when everyone was rushing to wear them, I think it’s actually pretty cool to wear them now on purpose. Plus, since they’re low-top, they’re easy to wear as summer approaches. They’re more casual than high-tops, and and just like the “Air Force 1,” low-top sneakers are something you end up wearing all the time anyway, right? With that in mind, I thought it would be great to deliberately choose the “Air Jordan 1 LOW” in Bread. This colorway used to be a hot commodity, but now it’s easier to get your hands on. That’s another plus.
