Since we were aiming for the championship, the disappointment is certainly not insignificant. With the event taking place in our hometown of Kyoto, our feelings are a bit different than usual. Even so, there was no gloom in the team members’ expressions. Although they were exclaiming, “This is so frustrating!” there was a bright, optimistic atmosphere as they looked ahead to the next challenge.
Reflecting on the competition, AYUMI said, “First of all, there was a huge crowd, and I really enjoyed dancing. More than anything, since it was a world championship held in the city where I was born and raised, I was truly happy.” Then, her expression grew a little more serious as she continued, “That said, while we’ll thoroughly reflect on today’s loss, we won’t lose sight of who we are, and we’ll continue to hone our breaking skills.”
Rather than dwelling on defeat, take the next step. It is through this repeated process that “BODY CARNIVAL” has continued to move forward over the past 20 years. Looking ahead, there’s a team competition in Taiwan this August, followed by events in Switzerland in September, Germany in October, and another major tournament in Tokyo in November. Their journey of challenges continues as they move toward the next stage.
