Tissot PRX Automatic
The original model introduced in 1978 has been updated with a high-precision automatic. While based on the smooth curves of the tonneau-shaped case, the dial is decorated with an embossed checkered pattern. The retro-futuristic appearance looks fresh for men who celebrate contemporary fashion. Left and right: ¥82,500, middle: ¥85,800 (both with automatic movement, case diameter 40 mm, water resistant to 10 atmospheres)

The car is the one and only thing that can lead you to your favorite place while staying in your private space.
. Please tell us again what kind of brand "Gordon Miller" is.
The brand was launched in 2017 and proposes a "lifestyle extended from the garage" through all kinds of products. The product lineup varies from car interiors, storage products, car wash tools, car-related clothing, and even original and customized car bodies.
What kind of work do you do as a director?
In addition to formulating brand strategy, creative production such as graphic design, and management and operation of owned media, we develop products in consultation with all internal teams as a brand strategy while responding to the needs of our mother company, Autobacs.
Another important part of my job is to use Gordon Miller products myself. For example, there are things that I notice only after using the product, such as the position of pockets in car interiors, that I could not have discovered during the development stage. That is why, when I have time, I go out to the mountains or to the beach, and I ask myself, "Is this work or private life? Is this work or private life? Sometimes I am not sure if it is work or private life (laughs).

A. Young people are seriously turning away from cars nowadays.
. I believe that the reason for the shift away from cars is not that transportation has developed to the point where cars are no longer necessary, but rather that the industry as a whole simply is not thriving. In such an environment, Gordon Miller's role is to communicate, "Cars are really interesting.
Saruwatari-san, what is the attraction of cars for you?
It is a place that can take you anywhere from east to west, north to south, and south to south, all while remaining in a private space filled with your own personal interests. In my case, when my schedule suddenly became free, I would get in my car and go to Ise or Fukuoka. Just owning a car that can take you anywhere you want to go at a moment's notice will change your life.
He embodies US culture with his total style including his car.

I heard that you used to work at a select store.
I originally worked as a sales representative at a select store, and then joined the company's creative team to produce graphics for sales promotion materials. Then I heard that "Autobacs" was going to start something interesting, and I thought I could do work that would be beneficial to the world, so I moved to my current company.
What are the key points of today's style?
The key point was to keep it as basic as possible, and I wore a jacket made for Gordon Miller's pit crew to wear as workwear. The staff in charge of the project spent more than half a year planning and completing this ambitious work.
. I like the color match with the car, too.
This "Terrano" was one of the first cars designed at the California Design Center. It has been arranged to be as simple as the way it is dressed today, removing the rear spare tire and over fenders that are common on four-wheel drive vehicles.
This is one of those cameras that you can feel the warmth of a person's hand, which is similar to the warmth of a film camera.

Do you usually wear a watch? Also, what role does a wristwatch play for you?
I choose a watch according to TPO, such as a day when I have a business meeting with a client, or a day when I don't have hard work to do. In terms of role, I believe that a watch is the most direct expression of the wearer's personality.
What was your impression of the Tissot PRX Automatic?
I felt the depth of nostalgia typical of Tissot, which boasts a long history, in the fact that it suits me as an American casual wear lover. The natural coloring of the watch does not make too much of a statement, so I am glad that I can wear it with any clothes. I think it is hard to find a watch that has a luxurious feel yet is familiar to people in other brands.

What kind of image did you have of Tissot?
In my mind, Tissot has an image of motor sports. Therefore, in terms of cars, I feel comfortable wearing Tissot myself.
This is an automatic model, but what do you think about mechanical watches?
In a world where everything is convenient and digital society is pervasive, items produced through handiwork still tickle the fancy of men, don't they? I like to take pictures with a fully manual film camera, but sometimes it breaks down. Just like a camera, I felt a warmth that makes me want to keep using it even if I have to fix it.
What occasions would you like to wear the Tissot PRX Automatic?
I would like to wear it at a quiet resort where the lean design would suit me . It would be stylish to casually show off this watch at a restaurant with a view of the ocean, wouldn't it?
