Hairdressing is a wonderful job where you can make a difference in other people's lives.

What made you decide to become a hair stylist?
Beckham's soft Mohawk became the talk of the town during the 2002 Japan-Korea World Cup. I was in junior high school at the time, and self-cutting was popular, so I tried it myself. Then I became popular (laughs). (Laughs.) At that time, I thought, "If I changed my hair style, my life would be completely different. I can't speak too highly of it, but I thought it might be a job where I could change other people's lives, so I decided to become a hair stylist.
What made you join Heaven's Omotesando?
When I was choosing a salon, I wanted to be good at cutting techniques. I chose this salon because the president had published a book on cutting and I knew that they train stylists with a solid curriculum.

I see that this is your 15th year with the company. I can feel the love you have for the salon.
Thank you very much. I am now not only doing salon work, but also participating in photo shoots for beauty trade and fashion magazines, and putting effort into training young staff members. I am also in charge of directing the company's seasonal visuals, which we produce several times a year. In any case, I am grateful for a company that allows me to do what I love.
What is the attraction of "Heaven's Omotesando"?
All the staff are friendly, so even though it is located in Omotesando, it is not a high place to be. Perhaps it is because of the at-home atmosphere, but we have a wide range of customers, from those in their 60s to junior high school students. It is a salon where you can drop by on your way to shopping on your day off or after work.
