His stance of painting what he loves has not changed since he was a child.

How did you become a painter?
I have loved drawing ever since I can remember, and I just never stopped. I even learned a few basics when I studied abroad in the U.S., but nothing has changed in my style since I was a child. I like to draw what strikes my fancy at the time.
Where do you get the inspiration to paint what you like?
I am bored, so what I want to paint changes from time to time, but it is a sense that what I want to know or what I remember comes out in a flash. For my solo exhibition six months ago, I used my parents' house in Hokkaido as the subject matter.

What kind of paintings are you going to do for your next solo exhibition?
I am planning to hold a solo exhibition at the beginning of the new year, but I haven't finished creating it yet. Whenever I do a solo exhibition, I always decide on a theme and then write it down in writing before starting work. Since I am really bored, I sometimes lose my axis even in the middle of painting, so I try to paint with the text in my mind.
What do you enjoy most in your work as a painter?
I simply enjoy painting. I do not use digital media, but rather paint by hand, whether acrylic or window, and even at the age of 35 I still enjoy holding the brush, so I think to myself that I must like painting quite a lot. I would like to continue painting with the same initial impulse I had since childhood.
