The many pockets make it convenient for travel.

When did you start taking pictures?

Shibata:When I was in high school, a good friend of mine was taking pictures with a film camera. It was a natural progression for me to start taking pictures. At the time, I was taking pictures of scenery from my daily life, but gradually I began to enjoy traveling and taking pictures. Especially when I traveled abroad, I found that the unfamiliar scenery made every scene look fresh and new.

What does the act of taking pictures bring to you?

Shibata: I feel that I am able to develop a sense of balance by having an outlet for my output that is separate from my modeling work. Photography is something that can be done alone, so perhaps that aspect of it suits me as well.

I think you are both the photographer and the model, but do you get a synergistic effect?

Shibata: It's like there is or there isn't (laughs). (Laughs.) Because for me, both of them are facing different vectors. However, when I am standing in front of the camera as a model, I sometimes have a vague idea of what I am looking at.

Boothbay down jacket ¥52,800

You like to travel. Is there anything you are conscious of in terms of fashion when you travel?

Shibata: I want to pack as little as possible, so I often bring simple clothes that are easy to put on and off. I end up wearing the same clothes as usual (laughs). (Laughs) What I don't have enough of, I buy locally. When I went to a country where it rains a lot, I didn't have any rainwear, so I bought some there and wore it. It was nice to travel around wearing clothes that were appropriate for the area and sold there, as I felt like I fit in with the city.

Dexter Comfort Waist Jeans ¥17,600

How do you feel about the L.L.Bean Japan Edition?

Shibata: The length of the denim was just right, and I was able to wear it right away without having to make any alterations. Then there is the elastic waistband. I thought it was a different detail from regular denim that made it easy to wear, and I didn't mind the appearance of the elastic. I like clothes that are comfortable and easy to wear, so I think they fit me well in that sense as well.

The down jackets are also a good size.

Shibata: When I wear men's clothes, I pay attention to the size balance. If it is too big, I get the impression that I am being worn, so I try to choose something that fits my body. I think the volume of this jacket is just right. It is also very light and warm. It's like wearing a down quilt (laughs). It also has lots of pockets, so it would be convenient to wear on trips.

Here are the outerwear worn by the five!

Ms. Horiuchi wears: Fairfield Vest ¥29,700
The design is based on a vest released in the 1990s. The outer fabric is ultra-fine ripstop nylon, and the padding is updated to the top-of-the-line, ultra-light PrimaLoft® Luxe. The large armholes and double zipper make it easy to layer.

Worn by Naka: Fairfield Jacket ¥35,200
Like the vest, this jacket is arranged based on the archive. The hood has tabs and adjusters on the back for protection from the cold and wind. The mango color will make your autumn/winter outfit look more subdued.

Worn by Minamikawa: Fairfield Vest ¥29,700
This item is the same as the aforementioned vest, with a green body and purple zipper, an austere combination. It can be worn with either cold or warm colors as an inner layer without any sense of discomfort.

Mr. Kakubari wears: Topsham Boa Fleece Jacket ¥24,200
A modern design of the long-loved boa fleece. The material is made of fine count, high performance fiber Thermolite yarn, which is lightweight but has excellent heat retention properties. The original soft and bulky fluffy boa fleece gives you a beautiful silhouette when you wear it.

Ms. Shibata wears: Boothbay Down Jacket ¥52,800
The design is based on the archive "Bean's Down Mackinaw". The outer fabric is water-repellent high-density nylon taffeta, and the inside is filled with high-quality white goose down. It is lightweight and warm despite its massive appearance, and the corduroy collar is a nifty touch.

This outerwear is also recommended!

Fairfield Jacket ¥35,200
This jacket is arranged based on the archive. It is available in five colors: blueberry, green, mango, night, and raspberry, each with a different zip and inner color scheme.
