Hiroki Ishikawa , a professional trail runner who promotes trail running through various approaches such as producing races and managing events. He is known as a pioneer in spreading the European and American trail running styles and ways of enjoying trail running in Japan. What kind of gear has Mr. Ishikawa been using to run in the mountains? What are his criteria for selecting gear that is truly dependable in a harsh natural environment? Ishikawa: The texture of the material is soft and pleasant to the touch. And the pockets are plentiful, allowing for efficient storage of smartphones, shells, and provisions, and they do not shake easily while running. I think the greatest appeal of these shorts is that you don't feel stressed while running.

-These shorts are available in 5" and 7" lengths, which do you prefer?

Ishikawa: . You can wear them in different ways depending on the situation. When I want to run fast or in a race, I wear 5 inches, and when I want to run long and slow, I wear 7 inches. However, I tend to wear the 5" more often than the 7". The length is exquisite.

-Have you been using these "Strider Pro Shorts" for a long time, Mr. Ishikawa?

Ishikawa: Before these shorts were introduced, I used to wear a model called "Ultra Shorts". In the past, most running shorts were of the racing type with a short length. Shorts with a slightly looser silhouette and longer length like the "Ultra Shorts" were rare, and I loved wearing them.
