A ghost storyteller, collector of occult artifacts, and YouTuber… Toshiyuki Tanaka, who has some rather unusual hobbies and professions, is a gentle and thoroughly entertaining person.
Mr. Tanaka has teamed up with "KIOSCO"—a shop in Koenji specializing in Mexican goods—and BEAMS CULTUART to host a pop-up event.
The event will be held at "BEAMS CULTURE Takanawa." In addition to displaying Mr. Tanaka's personal collection of cursed objects and the yokai collection owned by Yuya Goto, owner of "Kiosco," a line of occult-themed apparel created through a collaboration between the three parties will also be released.
Hoodie ¥17,600
Sweatshirt ¥ 14,300
Sweatshirt ¥ 14,300
T-shirt ¥6,930
Long-sleeve T-shirt ¥7,920
Cap ¥7,700
Bandana ¥2,200
With a total of seven items, the lineup is packed with variety. The exhibition’s title, “DON’T BELIEVE. FEEL,” evokes a slightly edgy vibe with ARMY-style charms and nails. I really like how it strikes the right balance—it’s not over the top, but has a slightly souvenir-like feel to it.
The exhibition opens on Friday, January 30. Since the couple’s personal items will not be for sale, be sure to check them out in person if you’re interested.
