In the spring of 2024, a new collection of fashion jewelry was launched. It is called "Hermès sur Mer".
As fans know, the base is reminiscent of the "Chêne d'Angkle. The "Chêne d'Angkle" was the first jewelry made entirely of metal by HERMÈS, and was introduced in 1938 by Robert Dumas, the fourth generation of the company, who was also known for his passion for the silk scarf "Carré". He was inspired by an anchor he saw on the Normandy coast that held a ship together. Chaine d'Ancre literally means "anchor chain" in French.
The "Chêne Maillon" bracelet from the "Hermès sur Mer" line is a rebirth of one of the Maison's most important symbols, its links in polished stainless steel and ceramic. The joining process is entirely by hand.
The contrast between silver and brown is one word for modernity. This is the best example of a response to the theme of brushing up on tradition.
Sur Mer means "on the sea." The name is also a good reminder of the origin.
