While making the most of the model's individuality, the parts that are built in are built out well.

The hair and makeup artist's job is literally to style the models' hair and makeup. In addition, as the first person to meet the models at the shoot, it is Katsu's job to create a relaxed mood while easing their tension.
For hairdressers, our job is to satisfy the client in front of us, but for hair and makeup artists, in addition to making the models beautiful according to the content of the shoot, it is also important to create work that reaches the unspecified number of people who look at the magazines and advertisements.

Masaru says that he originally wanted to become a hairdresser, but gradually his yearning for hair and makeup artists grew while attending beauty school.
In the hair/makeup business, there are many different sites, and the staff involved changes from time to time. That is stimulating and comfortable for me.

It has been 12 years since he started his own business as a hair and makeup artist. Having experienced a wide variety of workplaces, Masaru says his specialty is "bringing out the individuality of the model.
I think the personality of the model is important. I personally prefer a style that is natural and still has a human-like quality to it. However, that alone is not enough to get the job done, so I make sure that the parts that need to be made up are made up as I go along. I try to find the right balance between the two.

Masaru's work style does not stop there. While participating in photo shoots as a hair and makeup artist, he also actively takes on support roles for other staff members when he is available.
When I was attending a vocational school, I worked several part-time jobs while earning money for school expenses. I was always pressed for time with school assignments, but I just tried to be efficient and focused on completing both my schoolwork and my part-time jobs. I still have some of the ideas I had then, and I try to find things I can do when I have free time. By doing so, the site runs well and the shooting winds down. If the work gets done ahead of schedule, everyone is happy (laughs)."

Thanks to Masaru's hard work on this day, the shooting went smoothly from start to finish, and the team seemed to be able to move out early. With a look of satisfaction on his face, he said, "There is a place I want to stop by. So we boarded the "Kangoo" again and set out for our new destination.
