The trail run you've been waiting for. We will go to Yakogamine, where a spectacular view awaits us!
The next morning, it is time for the main event of the camp, the trail run! Tateshina Tokyu Hotel is directly connected to the trailhead, so you can start running as soon as you are ready.
The course this time starts from the hotel, passes through Quercus crispula and red pine forests on the Tokyu Trekking Course, and follows the ridge line from the west peak of Yagoshimine (Yagoshimine) to the east peak. The return trip is along the same route, a 10-kilometer round-trip piste route.
The scent of the forest surrounds you and the trail is bathed in sunlight filtering through the trees.
Run lightly on gentle inclines and flat areas, and switch to walking when you feel it is too hard. The secret to enjoying trail running is not to push yourself too hard.
After about an hour of progress and passing through the tree line, the view suddenly opened up!
Then we arrived at the west peak of Yakogamine! The elevation is 1,833 meters.
Tateshina to the east, the Yatsugatake mountain range and the Southern Alps to the south, and even the Northern Alps to the north. Tateshina to the east, the Yatsugatake mountain range and the Southern Alps to the south, Kirigamine to the north, and even the Northern Alps beyond that.
From the west peak to the east peak, a gentle ridge continues for about 1 km.
The slope is pleasant to run on, and the beautiful ridge line stretches on forever. This route is a great place to enjoy such a trail runner's favorite.
A commemorative photo near the summit of the east peak of Yakogamine. Turn on your heel here and go back the way you came.
After a nice run downhill, we returned to the trailhead and finished. We finished our 10-kilometer trail run. Well, it felt good!
This course can be enjoyed by beginners, but there are many other options for advanced runners who are not quite ready to run yet. Tateshina at an elevation of 2,531 meters, or take the Kita-Yatsugatake ropeway to enjoy the moss forests and ponds. The Tateshina area is attractive for its wide range of fields.
Although we chose "trail run" as the main activity this time, you can of course also enjoy a leisurely "hike" while enjoying nature. In fact, hikers could be seen here and there on the course.
