The collaborator is Saleh Banbury, a shoe designer. This is his first collaboration as an individual.

The collaboration model is the "2002," which was introduced in 2010 as the flagship model of Made in U.S.A. The upper design is inspired by the original, and the midsole features a high-specification sole equipped with N ERGY and ABZORB, which boast high shock absorption and resilience. When I think of New Balance, I expected a collaboration on the 990 or 574, but when they proposed the 2002, its unique cushioning technology, upper design, and new silhouette won me over. Living in LA for the past 5 years and spending time closely with nature, the Antelope Canyon inspired me to create this design. The orange gradient represents the different tones of the warm desert, combined with the cool blue sky."

The theme of this year's collaboration is "Peace be the journey. Although it is not easy to travel to the U.S., please take a moment to think about the distant U.S., as in the phrase, "Peace be to the journey. You will surely be whisked away to the valley.
