A sense of expanding diversity.
This is a race that I come back to every year for some reason or another. This time, I participated in the newly established ASUMI I ran the 40k race. I was able to finish the race without incident, which is a relief for now. It had been a while since I ran a race as an athlete, but I really enjoyed it, and the distance of 40 km was just right for me at the moment. People tend to say, "Oh, it's a short race," but 40 kilometers in the mountains is usually pretty long, if you think about it (laughs). The number of events has increased over the past few years, and the number of participants from overseas has also increased. Just being at the venue, I could feel the mixture of people from various countries, and I realized that the scale or diversity of this event is expanding rapidly," said Enomoto.
There was an unfounded certainty that he would finish the race.
He entered the FUJI 100mi, one of the most popular 100-mile races in Japan, as his first 100-mile race in a while. I entered the FUJI 100mi, one of Japan's most popular 100-mile races. I have become familiar with races of around 100 km over the past few years, but the 100-mile race is a real challenge when you start to tire in the latter half of the race. Although the race is naturally tough and the time is long, it is only in the 100-mile race that everything becomes a pleasant memory after the race is over. This time, I always had the unfounded certainty that I could finish the race, so even when my legs were finished and I felt sleepy, I never felt like quitting, and I was able to keep my mentality intact and finish the race. I also liked the "T.R. Rocket" sack from "The North Face," with its large 14-liter capacity and no bulkiness even with a middle layer shoved in. Moreover, the front bottle pocket was designed to be positioned higher, so I didn't have to worry about damage to my ribs from prolonged shaking of the water. However, I was almost heartbroken by the 4 km forest road around the venue that led us right to the finish line (tears). Even without that 4 km, we would have still made it over 160 km... (laughs)" (Yamamoto)

Making trekking more accessible.
I have raced three trail running races so far. The shortest of these was SAKUYA (8.6km). The course was designed as a gravel course with almost no gradients and a mix of forest roads and roads. Thanks to this, even though I am still a beginner, I was able to enjoy the entire ride without being overawed. To be honest, although there were a few shortcomings, it is fascinating to be able to enjoy the fun part of this sport. FUJI 100 is one of the largest in Japan, and I was glad to see that there is a category that even beginners can easily participate in. In fact, some of my friends who participated in the race with me had never run in the mountains before. I think the hard image of climbing up and down rugged mountain paths has been dispelled. The venue was friendly from start to finish, so I encourage you to enter this event to get a taste of the trail running scene," said Yasuda.
