A 7-kilometer course for beginners is also available!
For those who would like to try a public bath & downtown run, but 12 km is too long ......, we asked him to show us a beginner's course arranged with a shorter distance.
Starting from "Hidamari no Izumi Haginoyu" in Uguisudani, this approximately 7-kilometer course takes you from "Chikuryuan Okano Uguisudani" to "Kayaba Coffee" and Nezu Shrine, then to "yum yum kade" in Hakusan for Sri Lankan cuisine, Suwayama Kichijoji Temple, "Fukuno-yu" in Sendagi, and back to "Hidamari no Izumi Haginoyu". You can choose Fukuno-yu as your starting point, or you can extend the course a bit and visit Rikugien or the Tokyo Dome. Fukuno-no-Yu is open from 11:00 a.m. on weekdays and from 8:00 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, so you can enjoy a hot bath after your morning run.
Incidentally, the 12-kilometer course we ran this time and the 7-kilometer course mentioned above were devised by BEAMS Japan with reference to recommended spots in the neighborhood based on interviews with the owners of Kotobuki-yu, Hidamari no Izumi Hagino-yu, Yakushi Yu, and Fukuno-yu. Public bathhouses, where men and women of all ages gather, are the hub of the local community, where people gather and where a variety of information also gathers. If you want to know about attractive spots in the area, the best place to ask is at the local bathhouse. In fact, the spots we visited on this run were all worth a visit.
