It is no secret that Japan's fishing scene is on the rise. As people around the culture started doing it, the trend inevitably spilled over into the fashion world.
There is a brand that incorporates elements of fishing in the international mode world. It is Botter, a talented brand that was selected as a finalist in the LVMH Prize, a gateway to success for young designers, in 2018. Despite its independent form, the brand is also known for its efforts to address the issue of marine pollution.
Although not shown in the photo above, one of his best-known works is an accessory using lures. The lures are handmade by Japanese fishing tackle shops and are used in necklaces and other accessories every season.
Botter" will hold a pop-up event at Dover Street Market GINZA from May 14 (Sat.).
This time, the exhibition is not just a display of clothes, but also an artwork in collaboration with Ciro Duclos, an artist from Amsterdam. As you can see in the post below, a lure moves like a real fish in a water-filled tank. The lure's appearance is superimposed on the life of a person who struggles to move forward.
The artist himself will be in Japan for the event. Of course, you will be able to pick up a variety of new Bottar products.
If you are interested in this brand, please visit them. You will surely feel the passion of the two ocean-loving designers.
