When you have been in the same place for a long time, it is normal to get used to seeing things as the norm and become numb. At such times, a visit to a different place can reset you and make your days fresh again.
But it is also true that we don't have that kind of time. If that is the case, why not borrow someone else's perspective and surrender yourself to the expression of photography? This may be possible with the exhibition by Steve Jansen, former drummer of Japan (JAPAN) and an active photographer.
This will be the third exhibition in Japan, and Mr. Jansen will visit Japan in the fall of 2022 to present new works photographed in Japan.
The theme is "resistentialism," inspired by the irregular architectural structure of the cluttered rows of buildings in central Tokyo. A humorous examination of inorganic objects conspiring against humans, it creates the illusion that inorganic objects have malicious or hostile intentions, and asks us to take a bird's-eye view of people's activities in urban space.
The works photographed in black and white are somewhat inorganic, and we have a feeling that many of them will be lined up with a lingering feeling. The exhibited works, postcards with audio, and T-shirts will be available for purchase. The location is "NEW" and it will start on January 10 (Fri.) next year.
