The fun of working as a team.
I understand that -production is a process in which the three of you pass the baton around to complete the project.
Ii High: That's right. After deciding to make 10 pieces this time, someone started making a rough sketch digitally, and then we started adding and subtracting, turning the file around, and kneading the shape into a form, which was then turned around several times.
-What is important to you in creating a single work of art with your team?
Ii High: The most important thing is to have fun, but when there are three of us running the show, we will definitely get caught off guard or let our guard down, so it is also important to keep a sense of urgency.
Shallow leaves: Although each of us sometimes works on our own, I believe that we can certainly produce a better product if we work as a team, so I place importance on enjoying the sensitivities of other members that I do not have.
Ishii: When you work as a team, you can be objective. I wouldn't want to display my own work in my room, but many of the things that the three of us create together are objectively pleasing to me. If I had done all the work for this apparel, I would be embarrassed to wear it, but with this, I would want to wear it.
-This time, they also created a new work of art.
Ii High: The basic concept is the same as "Running Shapes" and further deepened the idea. The work depicting a circle and a series of three runners is inspired by the joy of a community running as a group. The five pieces focusing on shoes depict the moment they kick off the ground and seem to pop. I chose five different types of shoes for this project, but I'm sure I can create many more, because "New Balance" still has more shoes that I like.
-They are based on real shoes, aren't they?
Ii High: Yes, it does. It incorporates distinctive elements.
