Photography and skating, with Jason Dill, over twenty years.

Greg Hunt, a former rider for the skate company STEREO in the 1990s, is now a filmmaker and photographer who has been capturing the true faces of his best friend since his teens, Jason Dill, and other skaters in the first book of his career, Ninety-Six Dreams, Two Thousand Memories, released in 2018. The book, "Ninety-Six Dreams, Two Thousand Memories," which captures the true faces of Jason Dill, his best friend since his teenage years, and other skaters, became an instant hit and is now hard to find. The Japanese edition of the book will be released on Wednesday, November 25. The book's Japanese edition will be released on November 25 (Wed.), preceded by the first solo exhibition in Japan at "BEAMS T Harajuku," an advance release of the photo book, and the release of the clothing line on November 20 (Fri.). We asked Greg himself what each of these events is about and what he has been up to so far.

We want them to relive the moment when they felt cool.

BEAMS T will hold its first solo exhibition in Japan, "BETWEEN THE LINES," at "BEAMS T HARAJUKU" for 10 days from November 20 (Fri.). What is your relationship with "BEAMS T"?

Greg: Theo, the owner of [Paradigm], and [BEAMS T] are good friends, which led to this exhibition and experiment. I wanted people to actually see the photos on display, not on a monitor, so I was happy to have the opportunity to do this together. In addition to the release of the book, we were also able to produce merchandise, which is another new endeavor.

How did you choose the photos to be exhibited?

Greg: I wanted to make the experience unique to the moment for visitors, so I selected as many photos as possible that would not appear in a photo book. Many of the photos are close to the skaters' private moments.

A hoodie with a print on the back of an everyday photo of Jason Dill walking in the snow will also be available. Hoodie ¥10,500+TAX

I see that these are not so-called "skating" photos. Why is that?

Greg: Their main occupation is skating, which is of course cool, but they are also attractive in other ways. When I was a kid, there were no social networking services, and I found those aspects that were not in magazines even more appealing, which is why I took photographs of them. Even ordinary moments such as riding in a car were attractive to me at the time, and I would take pictures of those moments. I hope that you can relive the moments that made me cool.

Sweatshirts featuring the cover and album jacket photos will also be available. Sweatshirts ¥9,200+tax each

Q: To commemorate your solo exhibition in Japan, BEAMS T will be releasing apparel items.

Greg: It's hard to pick just one of them (laughs). Don't you think they are all hot!

Yes, that's true (laughs). Do you have any plans for future activities?

Greg: To be honest, I can't think about it right now. This photo book was a very long process, and with all the video work going on, it's hard to find time for it. I see Jason often, but it's not like we take pictures every time. If there is one thing I do, it is to play with my kids (laughs).
